Local Review: National Museum - Planetarium (Philippines) | Entrance Fee Free Until April 30, 2017

Travel Advertisement:

I went to National Planetarium yesterday while battling the Sun's searing heat. It's my free time. I just can't waste the day. Note, they have a promo offering from March 24, 2017 to April 30, 2017, the Entrance Fee is FREE! (see original post here)

Tip: best if you arrived 40 mins. before the next show to avoid long waiting in line and also, you can sit in a good spot. The good spot for viewing are rows in the back. It's First Come, First Serve. If you're first in line then you'll be sitting in the back. If you're kind of last in line, you will be sitting at the front. I think you'll get a stiff neck there. The arrangement of chairs is facing forward not encircling the planetarium which I guess it must be for better viewing. I wish, I took a picture of the inside but phones/smartphones are strictly prohibited.

I watched their 4th show "Journey to a Billion Suns". The show is enjoyable. It looks real while watching the dome-like screen producing a 360-degree view. My nape feels stiff while and upon looking up at the dome for 30 mins. Their chairs are not a recliner. You'll adjust your head with the view. It's a little uncomfortable on the part of viewing but It's still worth it as the show is very educational and entertaining.

My rating for this Local place is: 3.0 / 5.0

Here is the Planetarium Show Schedule:

Tuesday to Saturday:
1st show: 9:00 AM - A Planet for Goldilocks
2nd show: 10:30 AM - Hayabusa Back to the Earth
3rd show: 1:00 PM - A Planet for Goldilocks
4th show: 2:30 PM - Journey to a Billion Suns
5th show: 4:00 PM - Hayabusa Back to the Earth

  1. This place is very near our house but we went there only once. It's a good educational spot for kids this summer.

  7. Going to the planetarium seems such a great way to spend time with my friends. It`s unfortunate that the free entrance is only up to April 30.
