Film Review: Oppenheimer (2023)

I watched this film last July 24, 2023. I'm excited to watch it because I love documentaries and historical films. It's composed of famous actors like Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., and Rami Malek.

The film is a pure vindication of Oppenheimer from crimes against humanity. The camera points only to his life. It doesn't even feature pictures of war or even the result of the bomb he created. It only points to his life, there's a bad spotlight but the ending still clears him from various accusations.

The Hype About Watching It on 70mm IMAX Reels and the Troubleness After Watching It

Seriously, what scene do you want to watch with an ultra-high resolution? The pores in their face? The bomb explosion? Or the communist boobs?

Even the movie-goers posting they're troubled after watching the film, where are you getting this? It doesn't even highlight the gruesome deaths of Japanese civilians from the weapon of mass destruction. The film is all talk. But it's a very good thing to know that people are self-aware of our dark history because they pose like they're bothered after watching a film that doesn't highlight any of that.

My rating for this film: 5.0 / 10.0

Excellent portrayals with prestigious actors. Using actual props and effects is commendable but it won't make the film highly spectacular. I won't be influenced by the hyped reviews at IMDB.

This review is honest and purely my opinion. Don't hesitate to comment your thoughts in the comment box. I'm very happy to discuss it with you.

Thank you for reading!

Don't Drink Raw Milk, Commercialism and Importance of Pasteurization

Recently, I read a news about listeria deaths in the US (see the BBC News here ). What's a listeria or listeriosis? It's a food poisoning caused by consuming foods contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria (for full technical explanation read WebMD article here ). What made me write this post? It's just that, as far as I can remember, I watched a morning TV show where they featured a Cow Farm. You know, they do this to amuse the viewers, typically to gain viewers' rating and also, to advertise the cow farm's business. So a farmer there teaches the TV host how to milk a cow. As the host successfully milked the Cow, he tasted it and drink the fresh product he just milked. So, I thought that was just fine and okay. I'm not recapping the old school days of teachings in Home Economics about pasteurization. In the High School I attended, they never emphasized the danger of drinking an unpasteurized milk or any unpasteurized dairy products. We are just taught...

Book Depository, Popular for its Worldwide Free Delivery, Is Closing

Today, Book Depository , a popular online book store for its Free Delivery announced they are closing. They can still accept orders on April 26, 2023, until midday. Book Depository 2004 - 2023 The company was founded by Andrew Crawford and Stuart Felton in 2004. It was acquired by Amazon (their former company) on July 4, 2011, maintaining its name and motto: "All Books Available to All" by providing free delivery worldwide. Lately, Amazon, its parent company offers free delivery too to eligible countries, particularly to SEA. Unlike before the pandemic, they offer free delivery only to the region or country where Amazon has a headquarter. Perhaps this move made Book Depository redundant as the parent e-commerce site offers the same free delivery option to South East Asian countries.
